[Opening: Matrix and AndrAIa's ships fly through a hole in the sky, which is then covered by a firewall.]
Mike:
Last week on ReBoot.
[Blue spreads out from a red circle, down a green line to a green circle, then outward along all lines radiating from it.]
Bob:
[voiceover] The first firewall is online. Close a major port and all the pathways beyond are protected.
[Matrix and AndrAIa's exoskeletons whomp the Guardians that are trying to swarm them.]
Daecon:
[voiceover] The Mainframers are stronger than we thought. They are actually fighting back!
[White Hexadecimal looks down at herself.]
Hexadecimal:
Oh, my goodness.
Dot:
Hex?
[A zoom room comes down toward Matrix. He looks over. On his other side a portal to Mainframe opens. AndrAIa's exoskeleton knocks him into it.
Daemon:
[voiceover] It is time for Matrix and AndrAIa to hear the Word.
Matrix:
[shouting] AndrAIa!
[AndrAIa looks up. Her forehead is glowing with veinlike lines.]
AndrAIa:
[worshipfully] My lady!
[Daemon tilts her head back and closes her eyes. Light explodes from her. On the diagram of the Net, green spreads down through the blue lines and turns the circles it passes green as well.]
Mouse:
[voiceover] Net ninety-two percent infected.
[Dot looks discouraged.]
Phong:
[voiceover] Dot, what are we going to do?

[The camera pulls out from a pair of green and red eyes barely visible below heavy red browlike markings. The face is silver, with a sharply pointed chin and nose and pointed teeth, two of which protrude from the lower jaw.]

Isn't it time you infected Pepperland?Dixon:
[voiceover] One more Virus for the deletion chamber.
[The room is seen in a long shot. The Virus is held in restraints. Bob, a cadet with short hair and no keytool, and Dixon Green, a yellow-skinned female Guardian, are at a podium on top of which is a control panel.]
Bob:
He can hear you!
Dixon:
So? Hey, Kilobyte!

Music Composed by
Bob Buckley

[Kilobyte looks over at her]
Dixon:
[flippantly] Ready for oblivion?
Bob:
D'you have to be so callous?

Dixon:
It's a Virus, cadet. A dirty, no-use Virus.
Bob:
Look, you don't know his story, what made him this way, how-
Dixon:
[interrupting] A User made him this way. A User programmed him to destroy, to infect, to corrupt. Why the User does such a thing is beyond our capacity to understand. [resumes tapping at the controls] So, uh, there's no point trying.
[Kilobyte snarls softly and looks over when Bob speaks.]
Bob:
I don't believe a User would knowingly release a Virus on the Net.
Dixon:
[sarcastically] Why, I forgot who I was talking to. I suppose you've written a readme on the psyche of Users.
Bob:
Well, actually, I-
Dixon:
[interrupting] You're never gonna pass the finals, kid.
Bob:
What?
Dixon:
Guardians are here to mend and defend, okay? Not sit around trying to work out the way User thinks and why Viruses are introduced into systems.
[Kilobyte growls softly and looks around.]
Dixon:
[continuing] Sheesh. I'm just glad the Prime Guardian hasn't seen any of your works.
Bob:
I had a meeting with Turbo just last second.
[Kilobyte growls, tilting his head up, apparently straining against the restraints.]
Bob:
[continuing] Ah, he thought my ideas to reprogram Viruses for the good [proudly] were radical!
Dixon:
Radical. Ah, he used the word "radical" and you think-
[A pinging sound is heard. Both Guardians look over.]
Dixon:
What was-
[Kilobyte roars and tears one arm out of its restraint.]
Dixon:
backing away fearfully and speaking into her keytool] Glitch, Patch me through to Central. We have a four zero three in progress.
Bob:
Four zero three, viral upgrade?
[Kilobyte tears his other arm free and falls forward. Then he stands and looks back at the Guardians. Bob rushes toward him.]
Dixon:
Bob! No!
[Kilobyte swats Bob across the room. Bob lands hard and lays there, unconscious. Kilobyte, roaring, turns toward Dixon, who is still speaking into Glitch.]
Dixon:
Upgrade skipping a generation. Has the ability to fly, transfinite power reserves, [???]-
[Kilobyte grabs for her. She leaps away, ricochets off the wall, and lands on his back. She holds on with one arm around his neck. She points her other forearm at the back of his head.]
Dixon:
Glitch! Narrow beam! Yo, Virusez in de hood!
[A yellow light shines from Glitch. Kilobyte goes crosseyed as a yellow beam shines out from his forehead, just above his nose. Then he throws her forward onto the ground. He stalks toward her and opens one hand. As he does it transforms into what looks like Kilobyte's three-fingered energy-draining claws. Roaring, he raises the claws, then swings them down on Dixon. Seen in shadows against the wall, Kilobyte picks Dixon up and holds her in the air. Her shadow flickers into semitransparency. Bob is still unconscious. Kilobyte throws Dixon down. She flickers. Kilobyte turns toward Bob. He stalks toward him, but before he can reach him a shining, spinning circle opens behind him. Kilobyte transforms back and forth between his current form and Gigabyte.]
Gigabyte:
[shouting] I am Gigabyte!
[The glowing circle sucks Gigabyte in, then disappears, leaving Bob and Dixon lying on the floor alone. The scene fades to white. Then it fades in on a game cube in Mainframe. The firewall is visible in the sky. Inside, Matrix, in wrestler's trunks, is jumping up and down on a fallen opponent in a fenced-in ring.] STELLA!
Announcer:
Great Caesar's Ghost, this is absolutely heinous! [???] This guy's a monster!
[Matrix punches his opponent over and over.]
Announcer:
I'm losin' my lunch here! Oh, stop it, stop it, he's had enough, darn it!
[The bell rings. Matrix stalks to a corner of the ring, then raises his fists and yells into the sly.]
Matrix:
AndrAIa!

[The echoes of his voice fade as an establishing shot shows Daemon's lair in the Supercomputer. Inside, AndrAIa is standing, elbows on one of the hourglass pillars, her chin in her hands, looking depressed. Daemon walks up to her from the side.]
Daemon:
Why do you look so sad, AndrAIa?
AndrAIa:
[looking up] Oh, my lady. I-I didn't hear you.
Daemon:
You are thinking of another.
AndrAIa:
[looking away sadly] Yes, Matrix. We've never been apart. I feel... lost.
Daemon:
Let me help.
[Daemon puts her hand on the side of AndrAIa's head, under her hair. When she moves it away the lines of infection glow more brightly than before.]
Daemon:
You wish you could go to him.
AndrAIa:
I-I'm sure he feels the same way. But I'm not worried. Love conquers all boundaries.
Daemon:
Are you sure?
AndrAIa:
I'm counting on it.

[A barred door closes in front of two CPU binomes. As the camera pans up Mouse walks up behind them.]
Mouse:
There. That should hold'ja.
[Turbo is standing calmly in the cell.]
Turbo:
For a while, yes. Guardian Giggles
[The CPUs watch. One taps his billy club in his hand. Turbo smiles at Mouse. He looks pained.]
Mouse:
I hate the way he keeps smilin' at us.
Turbo:
I have heard the Word. [closing his eyes] I am at peace. [looking at Mouse again] Ray has heard the Word too, Mouse.
Mouse:
What did you say?
Turbo:
The surfer. He waits for you with my lady. All y'have to do is drop the firewall and he will fly into your arms.
Dot:
Can it, Turbo.
[Mouse and Turbo look over. Dot and Bob are walking toward the cell.]
Mouse:
[to Dot] Daemon's got Ray.
Dot:
You've only got his word for that.
Mouse:
And AndrAIa!
Dot:
Mouse, I know.
Mouse:
Well, we have got to do something!
Dot:
Mouse, please! We need to talk to Turbo now!
Mouse:
Talkin' ain't gonna get us our friends back!
[Mouse pushes between Bob and Dot and stalks away.]
Bob:
Mouse!
Dot:
Let 'er go, Bob. I'll deal with her later.
Turbo:
[now holding onto the bars] Bob? It's true! You are one with your keytool! You are my lady's messenger!
Bob:
Messenger? Tell it, brother.
Turbo:
You were right, Bob! There are benign Viruses, Viruses that're good! This proves all of your theories!
Dot:
[to the CPUs] He is secure, isn't he? You've took his keytool?
Bob:
Copland. His keytool is called Copland.
CPU:
[saluting] Ma'am, Mouse gave him a thorough search, and I mean thorough.
[Dot gets a "too much information" expressions.]
CPU:
[continuing] He didn't have a Copland.
Bob:
That's impossible! When a keytool joins with a Guardian, they - we - exchange code. Copland must be with him, or Turbo is incomplete.
Turbo:
Bob, you are the only complete Guardian. You are the messenger! When my lady has you everyone will hear the Word!
Dot:
[crossing her arms] Well, I've heard quite enough. [to Bob] Do it!
[Bob looks at her, then down at his icon. He grasps the bars of the cell door. A light shines from his icon, throws Turbo back, and pins him against the opposite wall. Bob grimaces with the effort and starts turning transparent..]
Turbo:
[shouting] No! My lady! The Word!
[The ray disappears. With a cry, Bob sinks to his knees, fading in and out of solidity. Dot helps him back up. Turbo falls to the floor of the cell.]
Dot:
[to Bob] You okay?
Bob:
Yeah. Is he cured?
[Turbo gets up on his hands and knees. When he raises his head the stigmata of Daemon's infection are only faintly visible on his temples.]
Turbo:
[with effort] Not entirely. [getting to his feet] But I can fight her control now.
Bob:
Turbo, what is Daemon's function?
Turbo:
[wincing as he speaks, as if in pain] To bring... unity... to the entire Net.
Bob:
Unity? First time I've heard it called that.
Dot:
Why is Bob Daemon's messenger?
Turbo:
[wincing] As Daemon's infection grew our... keytools left us. Bob is now the only Guardian... who can create portals.
Dot:
So she can't use the Guardians to get into to get into the closed or offlined systems, Bob! She needs you to complete her function.
Turbo:
[wincing] And she'll get'cha... [lowering his head despairingly] Nothing can stop her.
Dot:
Ah, I wouldn't bet on that!

[On a board very similar to the one Herr Doktor used to decode Phong's portal command codes, ones and zeroes appear, moving up a column. However, at the top, instead of a number, Mouse's logo appears against a red background.] A bald red-orange Guardian stands in front of it.]
Guardian:
Go to level seven. Environment friendly recycled models
[A gun on a floating platform, much like Megabyte's Hardware from "Web World Wars," shoots a beam at a firewall in a portal showing Mainframe. Around it fly several spider ships.]
Guardian:
Try eight.
[A horizontal disc pops into existence. A transparent holographic image of Daecon appears above it.
Guardian:
Daecon!
Daecon:
You should've hacked into that system seconds ago!
Guardian:
We're already at level eight. We've never needed to pass three before this. There's no way through.
Daecon:
That is not good enough. Our Lady has a schedule to keep! I cannot accept failure.
[The Guardian looks up worriedly.]

[PLACE COMMERCIAL HERE]
[A game cube is in Mainframe. It rises into the sky.]
System Voice:
Game over.
[Arms raised, Matrix shouts into the sky. He makes angry monosyllabic noises, then clicks his icon. It switches from regular to game sprite mode. He looks over at the Principle Office.]
Dot:
[voiceover] She's a what? I don't wanna grow up, I'm a Nulls R Us babe
[Inside a medical room, Hexadecimal is drawing her finger slowly around the front of a tank in curved patterns. A null follows her finger. In the background, Dot and Phong are talking.]
Phong:
A Sprite.
Dot:
Not a Virus?
Phong:
No.
Dot:
How?
[Phong is looking at a VidWindow. Two circles spin around a wireframe schematic of Hexadecimal. An icon appears beside her.]
Phong:
When the User did a viral scan of Mainframe, Hex was unaffected.
Hexadecimal:
[still leading the nulls around] It tickled.
[Dot makes a nasty face at Hexadecimal.]
Phong:
We naturally thought "It is Hex. Go figure."
Dot:
So what's changed?
Phong:
Her power. I-it is really quite simple. Her icon held the viral scan, but her power levels were too strong for it to work!
Dot:
And when she withheld the Guardians-
Phong:
[nods] She drained herself enough for the scan to trigger. She used the nulls to try to protect herself.
Dot:
But the nulls fled when the game landed!
Phong:
And bingo! New Hex.
[Dot looks at Hexadecimal. She is stacking the nulls inside the tank. With a gesture she topples them.]
Dot:
[to Hexadecimal] I thought you said you'd lost your powers!
Hexadecimal:
[glancing back] I have. [She starts leading the nulls around with her finger again.]
Dot:
Then how're you doing that?
Hexadecimal:
Oh! [She stands.]
Dot:
Come on!
[Dot grabs Hexadecimal by the wrist and drags her away from the null tank. The door opens in front of them, revealing Bob.]
Bob:
Hi!
Hexadecimal:
[flirtatiously] Hi, Bob!
[Dot scowls at Hexadecimal and folds her arms. A VidWindow springs open behind Dot. In it are Matrix and Mouse. Hexadecimal turns to look at it.]
Mouse:
Dot, we've got an idea.
Dot:
[raiding a hand, not looking back] Not now, Mouse.
Matrix:
We have to talk!
Dot:
Later! Madame! I have no legs with which to KICK this brat!
[The VidWindow closes. Another springs open showing the interior of the Diner. As Cecil speaks Enzo, AKA "Little Matrix" leaps up into frame, waving his arms.]
Cecil:
I must protest most strongly!
[Enzo jumps up and hangs off Cecil's back. As Cecil speaks he grabs Enzo by the back of the vest and holds him out toward Dot.]
Cecil:
[continuing] I am many things, but I am not a nanny!
Dot:
[to Enzo] I told you to change outta those clothes!
Enzo:
No!
[Dot looks over at a VidWindow beside Cecil's. Specky is in it.]
Specky:
Um, sir, ma'am-
Dot:
Not now, Specky!
[Dot closes Specky's window.]
Dot:
Phong, talk to Enzo.
Enzo:
[angrily] That's Little Matrix!
[Cecil's VidWindow closes.]
Dot:
[brusquely] Hex, you're with me. Bob, where's your car?
Bob:
[pointing with his thumb] Just outside.
Dot:
I'm borrowing it!
[Dot grabs Hexadecimal's wrist and pushes past Bob.]
Phong:
But, where are you going?!
Dot:
To find my father!
[Dot leads Hexadecimal down the hallway. The doors close in front of Phong and Bob. Bob stares at the closed doors.]
Phong:
[lightly] Well, just slip out of your uniform and hop up onto the scanner. I'll be with you in a nano.
Bob:
I-I'm sorry?
[Phong turns back to Bob.]
Phong:
Bob, we need to run a full compile.
Bob:
[desperately] No, no, I-I'm fine, heh heh, look, haven't you gotta talk to Enzo, a-hah, I'll come back when you're not busy.
Phong:
[firmly] On the scanner! It's doctor's orders.

[The camera pans down the large window in Daemon's chapel. Daemon is sitting in her throne, and AndrAIa is sitting on the floor beside it.]
AndrAIa:
[laughs] Ah, you should have seen us fight that first game together. He was so brave. Ah, he said he was a Guardian, showing off to impress the girl. I-I knew he wasn't a Guardian, of course, I could hear everything they said! But... I didn't care. I was in love. It was love at first sight.
Daemon:
You are so lucky. I am not programmed for this type of love, and I could never go against my code.
[Daemon and AndrAIa look lower. Daecon approaches them and kneels.]
Daecon:
My lady.
Daemon:
Daecon, do you love me?
Daecon:
Why, of course, my lady. We all love you. You are the Word.
AndrAIa:
[shaking her head] It's not the same thing.
Daecon:
I have bad news, my lady. We cannot crack the encryption codes on the firewalls that blocks our path to Mainframe.
AndrAIa:
That'll be Mouse. She's very good.
Daemon:
Mainframe has a 'acker working for them?
Daecon:
And a Virus. This system is remarkable.
[Daemon walks to Daecon.]
Daemon:
But my messenger must hear the Word. Time is running out.
Daecon:
[looking down] I have... failed you, my lady.
[She looks at him with a compassionate expression. He lowers his eyes. She touches his arm.] Oh-oh...
Daemon:
Cron one oh one.
[She steps back. The camera spirals around Daecon as he speaks.]
Daecon:
One oh one, one oh oh, one one, one oh, oh one. [He opens his eyes, surprised.] Oh.
[Daecon blurs. Yellow pixels of light burst away from him, leaving behind a glowing green shape. His staff falls in double vision. Daemon opens a hand. The green light flows into it. When she opens her hand again, it is gone. Then she walks back to her throne. AndrAIa watches, wide eyed. Daemon sits.]
Daemon:
Tell me more. Tell me what it feels like to be in love.
[After a pause, AndrAIa smiles.]

[Bob's car flies away from the Principle Office. Dot is driving and Hexadecimal is riding shotgun, her feet up on the dashboard. They are heading toward Lost Angles.]
Hexadecimal:
Well, this is nice. So, you and Bob are...? Carte Blanche is like an avalanche, it kinda snowballs and sets you free
Dot:
[snappishly] Just friends!
Hexadecimal:
[putting her arms behind her head and sounding pleased] O-kay, just checking. I've always had a little thing for Bob, and I-I-I didn't want to get in the way if you-
Dot:
[interrupting] We're just friends.
Hexadecimal:
Good.
[The car nears Lost Angles.]

[Cut to an orange null squirming streaking across the ground. Hack and Slash are chasing it.]
Hack:
Hey, that could be Nibbles.
Slash:
I do not like LA. Geseundheit
[The camera pans past the car to Dot and Hexadecimal, who are standing in a street. Hexadecimal is holding her arms out, and nulls are gathering in front of her, forming a pile.]
Dot:
Dad, it's me, Dot. Can you hear me?
[The rising pile of nulls collapses. The nulls scatter. Hexadecimal covers her mouth with one hand.]
Hexadecimal:
Oops.
Dot:
Hex!
Hexadecimal:
It's not working! Oh, give it up.
Dot:
We're talking about my father. Would you give up?
Hexadecimal:
[bitterly] I was born in the explosion that created Lost Angles. An explosion doesn't usually display the best parenting skills.
Dot:
Hex, just try agai- [pause] What did you just say?

Oops
[The scene fades to white, then fades in on the center of the Twin City. We hear two pings. Fade to the auditorium. On the stage, the gateway fills with silver. Welman Matrix stands at the podium beside it, lecturing.]
Welman:
System detected. Executing gateway command.
[The silver in the gateway begins to spin. His podium sparks violently, startling him. Gigabyte appears in the gateway.]
Gigabyte:
I am become Gigabyte, destroyer of systems!
Beside myself [Gigabyte glows. Then as the gateway spins it shows Megabyte's right half and Hexadecimal's left half alternately. Light flashes as if the device is overloading. Seen from outside, light goes into the center of the system. After a second, it explodes. The camera shows the sky of the newly formed Lost Angles. The buildings are now ruins and there are tears here and there. The camera orbits Megabyte and Hexadecimal, who are standing side by side, facing opposite directions. They look at each other. Then Megabyte walks away. Hexadecimal looks around with a wide-mouthed, wide-eyed, cracked mask. She switches to her asymmetrical smirk as she speaks]
Hexadecimal:
I... like it here!
[The sky fades to present-day colors as the camera pans to Dot.]
Dot:
[in disbelief] Dad didn't destroy the Twin City. All this time I thought-
Hexadecimal:
In a strange way, your father saved my life - or, rather, gave me life. [smiling] I'll try again - sister.
[Hexadecimal holds her arms out. Nulls gather in front of her. A green null wriggles past Hack and Slash.]
Hack:
Ooh! Ooh! Ooh! Ooh! Look, Slash, there he is!
Slash:
Oh! Nibbles!
[Dot and Hex turn and look at the green null, who enters the pile of nulls that is already unfolding into a vaguely biped shape. It pops up at the top to form the head.
Hexadecimal:
[posing proudly] Ta-dah!
[Slash folds his arms crossly. Dot takes off her glasses.] Super Elastic Bubble Plastic
Dot:
Dad! You're back!
[The Null Creature speaks in a weird, distorted voice.]
Null Creature:
[looking at itself] Yes... sort of. I've missed you so much.
[Dot steps forward, arms out, as if to embrace the creature.]
Null Creature:
No! You cannot touch me! The nulls!
Dot:
[tearfully] Oh, Dad.

[PLACE COMMERCIAL HERE]
[Phong's office. He is seen behind a Newton's Cradle which is clicking as the balls on the ends swing. Seen from the opposite side, Enzo looks around the balls.]
Enzo:
Are we done?
Phong:
[uncomfortably] Well, ah... Enzo...
Enzo:
Matrix!
Phong:
Right! Right, Matrix, well, uh, this has been a nice little chat.
[Enzo stands and speaks into Phong's face.]
Enzo:
[impatiently] Are we done?!
Phong:
Done? [defeated] Yes. But-
[Enzo zips out of frame.]
Enzo:
See ya!
[Enzo runs right by Bob and out. Bob looks after Enzo, then turns to Phong.]
Bob:
Phong, you wanted to see me?
Phong:
Ah, Bob, please, ah, take a seat.
[Bob sits in the chair in front of Phong's desk.]
Phong:
Ah, what do you make of this?
[The Newton's Cradle is off to the side. Beakers of different colored fluids are now scattered on the desk. Phong hands Bob a card. On the back is a Mandelbrot set in black.] The new Bob salute
Bob:
Eh, oh, that's easy. It's, ah, Dot, [waving his fingers above his head to mimic Dot's punky hair] with that haircut she used to have, ah, when we first met, and she's smiling.
[Bob hands the card back to Phong. Phong looks at it. The inkblot does indeed look vaguely like the teenage Dot.]
Phong:
[sounding very surprised] Oh, oh, I see it now!
[Non picks up a beaker of green fluid and examines it.]
Phong:
My son, I've been going over your scans, and I'm afraid there is something terribly wrong.
[Bob sets the beaker down.]
Bob:
Merging with Glitch didn't work.
Phong:
[gasps] So you know!
Bob:
Yeah. Glitch was damaged. We both knew the risks, but it was the only way.
Phong:
Do you also know that continued use of your Glitch powers will result in total fragmentation?
Bob:
But I'm a Guardian. I can't go against my code.
Phong:
Dot will never allow you-
Bob:
[interrupting] And that's why we're not gonna tell Dot.
[They hear a tone, and look up.]
Phong:
What in the Net?
Bob:
What is it?
Phong:
Bob, we're online! Matrix couldn't go a whole ep without doing something stoopid.
[Ominous musical chord. Ship flies toward the firewall in Mainframe's sky. Inside the cockpit, Mouse and Matrix look at each other. The firewall opens. Ship flies into The Edge of Beyond. The firewall closes again.]
[Bob, Phong, Dot, the Null Creature, and Turbo - the last of whom is on a VidWindow - are now around a yellow circular table. Dot is the only one seated. Bob's arms are folded.]
Phong:
Mouse is outside the firewall!
Dot:
And she has all the encryption codes!
Bob:
Mouse will never give them up to Daemon.
Turbo:
Mouse'll give up the codes if she's infected. She'll do it willingly. That's how the infection works.
Dot:
This's my fault. I should've guessed Matrix would try something like this.
Bob:
I can port after them, bring them back.
Dot:
That's not an option. Look, if anyone can pull this off it's those two.
Turbo:
And if they can't find AndrAIa and Ray?
Dot:
Matrix'll go for the kill. He'll try and take out Daemon. [ironically] He has a problem with Viruses.
Bob:
That's putting it mildly. [Bob turns and paces.]
Dot:
Bob, can you form a portal that can evacuate the entire city?
Phong:
[quickly] No! No, that is beyond Bob's current power limits.
Dot:
I thought so. [to the Null Creature] Dad, I need you to construct your gateway machine again.
Null Creature:
But, it destroyed an entire city!
Dot:
I don't believe it did. Phong, help him.
[Phong nods.]
Dot:
[continuing] Bob, if we're going to defeat Daemon we need a cure for her infection. Find out why your code didn't work.
[Bob nods.]
Dot:
[continuing] Turbo, you're going to tell me all about Daemon. Anything, everything you can remember. [standing] There are two things we know for sure. We're running outta time, and you can never trust a Virus.

[The interior of Daemon's Chapel is seen from the point of view of a camera turned sideways. The view swings to show the long shadow of a man walking toward the throne. Matrix holds out his hand. Gun snaps into it.]
Matrix:
Gun, command line.
[A figure sits in shadow on Daemon's throne. The pendulum sweeps by. Matrix's eye spins into targeting mode.]
Matrix:
Targeting.
[An icon appears above a pair of eyebrows on a shadowed face.]
Matrix:
High-X.
[The light comes on, revealing that the figure in the chair is AndrAIa.]
AndrAIa:
[smiling] Hi, lover. Tag team
Matrix:
AndrAIa!
[The two rush to the center of the chapel and embrace.]
AndrAIa:
I missed you.
[They pull apart. Matrix touched her hair as he speaks.]
Matrix:
I'll never leave you again. Never!
AndrAIa:
There's someone you've got to meet.
Matrix:
[putting a hand on AndrAIa's shoulder and speaking desperately: We gotta get outta here!
[AndrAIa turns and looks up. Matrix looks up too.]
AndrAIa:
My lady.
[Daemon is floating up at the top of the chapel, her arms held out by her sides in a modified cross formation.]
Daemon:
'Allo, Matrix. I've heard so much about you. For me? 'Ow nice!
[Gun snaps into Matrix's hand again. He shoots. A bullet streams through the air in "The Matrix"-like slow motion, leaving behind a shimmering slipstream. Scratched on the side of the bullet is the word "DAEMON." It suddenly speeds toward her, then stops right before her eyes. Smiling, she plucks it out of the air. She shows it to them. Matrix, shocked, lowers Gun. The bullet explodes into yellow flame in her hand, then implodes, leaving her and the bullet unaffected. She blows on the bullet. It dissolves into fragments and disappears.]
Daemon:
Your weapon is useless here.
[Daemon drifts down toward them. Mouse leaps out of the darkness in slow motion. She swings her katana at the back of Daemon's neck. The blade shatters. Mouse lands and stares, open-mouthed, at her broken sword. Daemon lands lightly. Green infection energy spreads outward from her feet. It encircles Mouse and Matrix. Matrix screams. Gun falls to the ground, then Mouse's katana does too. Matrix's temples are glowing with weblike markings. He looks up with a bright smile.]
Matrix:
My lady.
AndrAIa:
[putting a hand on his shoulder] Welcome home, lover.
[They smile at each other. Behind Daemon, Mouse looks disoriented.]
Daemon:
So, love conquers all boundaries. [She turns to Mouse.] 'Allo.
Mouse:
[embarrassed] My lady. I'm so sorry. Can you forgive me?
[The camera swings over to Mike, who walks in still wearing the purple jumpsuit. Mouse and Daemon actually smile as he walks by.]
Mike:
Matrix, Mouse, hey, good to see ya! Oh, glory! We are re-u-nited! And it feels so good.
Daemon:
Mouse, the 'acker?
Mouse:
Yes, my lady.
Daemon:
Your encryptions are beautiful! Works of art. [She touches Mouse's cheek and smiles.]

Infect-the-dots [Dot is standing with Phong in the Command Room. Behind her are Hack and Slash.]
Dot:
Net, onscreen now.
[In the line-and-dot diagram green flows to a red circle. It turns green. Green spreads down all the lines and circles beyond it. The green approaches another red circle. Dot frowns.]

[Bob and Turbo are still talking through the cell bars.]
Turbo:
Ya have to find a way to destroy her!
Bob:
You better than any Sprite know how I feel about that.
Turbo:
Bob, this isn't the time for your theories! This isn't a small, sealed system we're talkin' about. It's the entire Net! Face it, Mainframe was an experiment that didn't work.
Bob:
Didn't work?! Have you seen Hexadecimal, she's cured!
Turbo:
And Megabyte?
Bob:
[defensively] I kept him contained! In time I coulda reprogrammed him. I still believe he coulda been turned.
[Turbo lowers his head and laughs.]
Turbo:
Your faith is astonishing. After what his genesis did to Mainframe's Twin City? After what he did to your partner?
[The camera comes in on Bob's face as his expression changes to shock. Fade to white, then in on Cadet Bob kneeling over Dixon Green and holding her head. Dixon is semitransparent.] Cue violin music
Bob:
Just hang on, Dixon. [shouting] Help! I need help in here!
Dixon:
[weakly] Too... late... cadet.
Bob:
Dixon... please, don't...
[Bob looks up when he hears a beep. On Dixon's bracer Glitch's wheel spins, and a diagram appears showing a Sprite on one end and a keytool on the other. Two thick horizontal lines are between them. Diagonal stripes flow along the bottom line from the Sprite to the rectangle.]
Bob:
No! Glitch, stop!
[The Sprite shrinks and the keytool enlarges. Glitch beeps again. Dixon glows briefly, then dissolves.]
Bob:
[screaming] NO! Don't get mad, get pink
[Bob lowers his head and cries. He looks up when Glitch hovers in front of his face. The keytool floats above him, its wheel spinning. Then it attaches itself to his bracer. Looking at it, Bob stands. Diagonal lines stream from the Sprite to the keytool in the lower horizontal of the diagram, and in the opposite direction on the upper. Glitch beeps.]
Bob:
Glitch! System scanning. Track and lock on Kilobyte!
[Glitch's bar moves and changes shape.]

[Lost Angles. Tears drift above the city. Binomes flee. A red and white car lands. Dot and Enzo get out. Dot looks around.]
Enzo:
[frightened] Where's Dad, sis? Where is he?]
[A rescue vehicle takes off. CPUs rush about.]
Dot:
I don't know!
Enzo:
Dad!
[Dot, head lowered, holds on to Enzo as the boy starts to cry. She looks over when she hears a portal opening. The sphere shows the Supercomputer. Cadet Bob walks out of it, then looks around at the tears.]
Bob:
Glitch, mend.
[Bob points Glitch at one tear, then another. Glitch shoots beams that mend them. Then Bob looks over and sees Dot. She takes off her glasses and steps toward him.]
Bob:
[nervously] I'm a cadet - I mean, uh... I'm a Guardian. I come from the Net.
Dot:
The Net?
Bob:
Yes. From another system. A Supercomputer. [He looks around at the tears and other chaos.] I'm so terribly sorry!
Dot:
You caused this? Don't kill the messenger
Bob:
No!
[Dot beats on his chest with her fists]
Dot:
[crying] You did! This is your fault!
Bob:
No! I-I'm here to help! Please, I just wanta help.
[Bob looks over. Turbo is standing in front of the portal.]
Turbo:
Bob? Are you okay?
[Two more Guardians come through. The portal sphere shrinks and disappears. The camera comes in on Cadet Bob's face. It fades into Web Bob, who is wearing the same sorrowful expression.]
Turbo:
Bob? Are you okay?
Bob:
Yeah. Just remembering the first time I came to Mainframe. I can't believe how much things have changed since then.
Turbo:
Yeah. Net has grown exponentially. It's becoming impossible to police. In a strange way Daemon is right.
Bob:
What?!
Turbo:
She's trying to bring order to chaos. Now isn't that our prime function?
Bob:
She wants unity! One voice, one way! The Net is supposed to be varied! Diverse!
Turbo:
Ah. Maybe it's too diverse.
Bob:
That's the Virus talking. You gotta keep fighting it!
Turbo:
[rubbing his temples] Ah, I'm tryin'. Why didn't your code cure me, Bob? Why?!
[Bob stares at Turbo, horrified.]
